SPECIAL ENCORE PERFORMANCE!

COMBINED ARTFORM PRESENTS: “ONE LAST CHANCE” Shows from the 2018 Fringe

“We Are Traffic: A Rideshare Adventure”

“In 2014 Jonathan lost his faith, so he got in his car…and drove. ‘We Are Traffic’ is a wild storytelling ride through the last 3 years of Uber & Lyft in Los Angeles. With the audience in the backseat, Jonathan reveals the “new relationship” between drivers and “pax” or passengers, how we were all separated long ago and how we’re accidentally coming back together.”

**Winner of “BEST OF THE BROADWATER” 2018 Hollywood Fringe
**Certified “SWEET” by BETTER LEMONS**

Better Lemons Review:

“I have found the man whose entire show turns out to be an epiphany, one that elevates him at the end of this “ride” onto a plane of boundless optimism!”

Jonathan's view of the world and the streets of LA needs to be seen by everyone. It's a very human story and a dose of what's wrong with humanity and the road we've paved for ourselves. With beautiful imagery and shade of Spalding Gray, he weaves and hammers home stories of pain, ride-sharing and our need for human contact. More please!

What an amazing solo performance! Jonathan Tipton Meyers is a gifted storyteller who at first brings you to a seemingly normal conversation to spellbinding intimacy once he explores his personal story. The first half was very light and funny as he leads you to his starting days as a Lyft driver and his experience with familiar LA culture. The next half gets more intense and you are progressively drawn into his despair. My engagement with the final act was so deep that I couldn't snap out of it for the rest of the run.

WHAT I LIKED Jonathan is so funny and his perspective is unique. A relatable journey of starting over and having faith. And making connections along the way. I could have watched another hour of this! WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE Nothing, it was magic MY OVERALL IMPRESSION Engaging, funny, touching at times.

Jonathan is a brilliant storyteller and he has no shortage of charisma, humor, honesty, and great stories. Great writing and great delivery with physicality and use of the space in telling the stories. This show is exceptional and should be seen by a larger audience.

We Are Traffic is a must-see for anyone who has experienced love, loss, rideshare, and the sprawling grid that is LA. Performed by Jonathan Tipton Meyers, this one man show wil make you laugh and cry. You'll find yourself nodding in agreement and nibbling at your fingers in anxious anticipation. This show is the full spectrum of emotion, lead by Jonathan's magnetic personality and complete ease with his audience. I felt like I was included in the scenes, felt like I was there and part of the moment. Mr. Meyers is dynamic and raw - a natural storyteller. We Are Traffic is a journey you'lll be glad you took - just be sure to put your seatbelt on first!

This is a great show almost anyone will enjoy! Jonathan is a great storyteller and his journey is not only compelling but relatable to anyone struggling to find their place in the world. Relatable to most everyone in the greater Los Angeles area, in other words.

What a great ride - in every way, this writer/performer takes you on an emotional journey with laughter and sincerity as his vehicle - so glad he accepted.

WHAT I LIKED I really enjoyed seeing pictures and videos that accompanied the show; great addition making the performance much richer. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE To me personally, the length of the piece seemed close to perfect, but I know it is supposed to be slightly shorter, and I am looking forward to seeing this at the next showing. Then it will absolutely amazing! MY OVERALL IMPRESSION As a regular Uber rider, I was very excited to see this show, based on how much weird stuff I personally encounter on my trips. To my delight, the author/performer turned even the worst of his driving experiences into positive lessons for himself. Not only we laugh or gasp listening about his adventures, but also feel for him and almost cry, when he sincerely talks about his relationships, fears, and self-doubt. The show is totally funny and entertaining, but also makes you think and look for examples in your own life. I strongly recommend seeing it.

WHAT I LIKED The unexpected opening of being in Jonathan's car was an awesome twist. I really love the fact that Jonathan could take a very common experience in today's society, and connect it to a personal experience that so many ride sharers take for granted. I never looked at ride sharing as having a intimate yet temporary personal relationship with a complete stranger. Thank you Jonathan for the enlightenment. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE WHERE IS THE TIP JAR!!!! lol MY OVERALL IMPRESSION This was a completely real and relatable reflection of what all of us have experienced if you've ever taken a ride share. The common experiences alone were full of color and character but and Jonathan's personal touch and experiences with relationships added a genuine heartfelt emotion that no one can deny. This is definitely a must see.

Jonathan Tipton Meyers is fantastic! From the moment he comes outside to usher his "ride-shares" into the cozy black box theater at the Broadwater, I was on the ride of my life! Jonathan is thoroughly engaging, dynamic, thoughtful, honest, funny, and totally adorable! And he knows it! Jonathan owned that hour of my life and I'm so glad he did! Do not miss We Are Traffic! It's a hit!

This is a WOW of a show. Funny, great storytelling, woven into a universal and existential angst. There's an intelligence to the humor that I loved. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't relate to this show. See it!

What started off seeming like a series of fun, disconnected anecdotes about being an Uber driver turned into a deeper, emotionally satisfying journey about finding what's worth loving in others - and ourselves. Jonathan is instantly likable and relatable so he could have gotten through the show on charm alone, but the narrative has a structure and message that sneak up on you in a very effective way.

sweet - Kerry Kaz

What a great show! So funny, moving (that's not a driving pun), and ultimately uplifting. Jonathan is a captivating performer and storyteller. He keeps you engaged for the entire running time. Everyone after the performance I saw started hugging each other. That's a pretty good reaction, I'd say!

sweet - Jim Vejvoda

Loved Jonathan's personality and charismatic storytelling. I wasn't expecting him to take me places where I never expected to go, not just destinations but also his own journey through the streets of L.A. and the ever growing number of people who've discovered Lyft over the years and the degradation of morals and common courtesy. WE ARE TRAFFIC will have you mesmerized and shocked at some of his best and worst (sometimes, plain scary) experiences while behind the wheel in a town where people have become more and more disconnected, desensitized and entitled.

sweet - Victor Sotomayor

OMG! OMG! OMG! IT WAS GOOD TO THE LAST DROP "AWESOMERIFIC!" Jonathan is so hilariously expressive. I'd have to give this solo act a Poetic Hug and 5 Better-Lemon squeezes! 100% award candidate! He kept us engaged from the moment of coming down the hall to his show, to exiting off the pavement from the building. "Talk about front door service!" Imagine that, something that was created to distant a class of people, is the very thing that brings them together in a closed in space. Would you ever had known you were lost at all, if no one ever showed you were you were in first place?
