Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group’s “URBAN DEATH TOUR OF TERROR: Haunted Theatre Attraction!” returns for its 6th year to shock and delight audiences with its fun n’ freaky twist on the haunted house… An ALL-NEW fun and frightening Haunted-Halloween Theatrical Attraction for 2018, steering theater-goers and thrill-seekers through a terrifying “Urban Death” maze of inexplicable horrors, unfathomable monstrosities, and the disturbed spirits that walk among us! Coming off of a critically acclaimed, sell-out run at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe — the largest performing arts festival in the world — Urban Death returns to their North Hollywood home to once again unleash their monsters upon the world. “This has been an amazing year for Urban Death,” says Zombie Joe. “We have spread our wings overseas and are now looking forward to returning home with a big sloppy ‘thank you’ kiss to our beloved fan base with our kick-ass haunted house. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been brewing up for your screaming pleasure!” Created by Zombie Joe and Jana Wimer, Urban Death first shocked audiences in 2005, revealing our deepest fears through a series of wordless, non-linear vignettes and intense physical performances. URBAN DEATH TOUR OF TERROR: Haunted Theatre Attraction! is bold, terrifying, and entirely unique. You are advised to purchase tickets early as this event consistently sells out. Don’t come alone. As always, the acting in Urban Death: Tour of Terror is in rare form. Performers here are masters of physical contortions and bodily control. For a show with no dialogue, each performer conveys miles of inner thoughts and messages through their expressions. Limbs bend in demented and crooked ways, eyes scream, and bodies climb any and all surfaces.

All in all, URBAN DEATH: TOUR OF TERROR HAUNTED ATTRACTION is a definite must-do for the Halloween season as it brings something uniquely different from what other haunts do, so make sure you get over there for a evening you won't soon forget!

The brilliance of Urban Death is that it plumbs the theatrical dimensions of these fears, going beyond mere scare tactics to mine the fears that really scare us – those that live in our own minds. Urban Death is simply one more of this theater company's extraordinary accomplishments. ZJU, which is without a doubt the most accomplished avant-garde theater company in Los Angeles. an underground theater company in North Hollywood has re-interpreted the “horror night” genre into an anti-theme park performance piece that has resonance far beyond simple scare tactics.

What I can tell you is that the usual stand out performers brign it for the audience as newcomers to the ensemble rise to the occasion. Our first scene if both sexually graphic and wildly humorous in a way that only Zombie Joe's can pull off. In fact, to explain what you see everytime the lights rise would be a disservice to the craft of the surprise. if you have NOT been to Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre you must go right away. This is easily one of the most important things to see this Halloween season so, GET TIX NOW!!!

grown-up haunt enthusiasts looking for more than the typical boo scares and polished environments from their spooky destinations--who want something more cerebral and intimate--should make sure to swing by. The action starts off at level 100 immediately with a scene I'll just call "sex doll" to minimize spoilers. It is less horror than most of the rest of the show, but it sets a jarringly shocking and in-your-face tone for the nature of the rest of the show. The show finishes on a high note with a differently but exquisitely executed version of a familiar climactic moment from past Urban Deaths, and then it's back through the maze.

The dark extremes of Urban Death have set the bar for what Halloween theater should be. As we left to exit the maze a younger member of the crowd was curled up in a fetal position refusing to look up, which signified that Zombie Joe's had accomplished their mission of extreme sensations. The audio, lighting, and performances are all perfectly synched up, creating a beautifully executed choreography for all those lucky enough to be in the audience.

A couple of years ago, we began to wonder whether the Urban Death: Tour of Terror's novelty was wearing off, but the Halloween 2018 show is strong as ever, offering playful variations on the familiar formula and striking a perfect balance of tones: creepy, sad, sinister, and even satirical,....
