THE UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF STRANGER THINGS
Reviews
Written by Kate Pazakis, creator and Executive Producer of the UMPO Series, this show adds a new twist to the usual format, a “choose your own adventure” element where each audience gets to decide the outcome of multiple storylines by either rolling a die or by simply picking between two options.

Kate Pazakis, executive producer of the UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF series, continues her successful streak of hysterical musical parodies of cinematic pop favorites with THE UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF STRANGER THINGS. Pazakis' most witty script cleverly adapts pop songs to advance the narrative of the Netflix cult phenom Stranger Things. Nathan Moore expertly directs his cast of enthusiastic triple-threats, propelling them through every inch of the Rockwell dining room at a rousing, non-stop pace with only enough time for deserved applause to die down before the next song or comedy bit tickles your funny bones.

Not only one of UMPO's all-time best installments, as the first to spoof a currently running TV series with fans numbering in the millions, UMPO Stranger Things could easily prove the series' most popular entry to date despite some pretty stiff competition. Trust me. Stranger Things have happened.

Directed by Nathan Moore and executive produced by writer Kate Pazakis, Stranger Things is a bright, tongue-in-cheek send-up to the Netflix show. The production had me smiling from ear to ear, laughing along with actors who are in on the jokes, singing to the '80s tunes, and left me wanting even more. Go for the supernatural action, but stay for the outstanding “Creep,” Hunton's fiery vocals, Clayton's lovable Dustin, and the overall magic that UMPO: Stranger Things brings to the stage. I sincerely hope they tackle Season 2!

Something never lacking with an UMPO production is the talent of the cast. Founder and Producer, Kate Pazakis, has carved out a solid troupe with her UMPO productions with ‘regulars' that have become favorites among the show goers and new, fresh faces to always keep the audience intrigued. Stranger Things is no exception. Emma Hunton as a frantic Joyce Byers brings the house down with her Broadway pipes on numbers like Blondie's Call Me. While Disney Channel darling, Garrett Clayton, does an un-canny job at playing the dual roles of dorky 12 year old Dustin and Steve, the boy-toy hunk of Hawkins.
