The Color Collective is a comedy variety show featuring diversity and inclusion in everything from music and dance to stand-up and sketch comedy. Winners of a 2018 Encore Award and a 2018 Audience Choice Award from Better Lemons, The Color Collective strives to be a show for all people, where we can tackle topics that typically aren’t (or can’t) be covered by others. Our goal is to make the audience laugh and see past our color or gender and to be sure that the point of view of minorities and women are always heard.
If In Living Color and SNL had a love-child, it’d be The Color Collective – a fast-paced hour-long sketch/variety show, highlighting diverse – and hilarious – players from a wide spectrum of cultural backgrounds. Our show isn’t just “about” diversity, though! We pride ourselves on putting together a team of stellar writers that dig deeper than racial stereotypes, actors who are at the top of their game, and a directing and producing staff that keeps the wheels constantly turning. No matter what color you are, you will see yourself represented on stage.
Royce and company present a fun hour of sketch, stand up and music. The cast delivers some great laughs in some very funny bits. The opening sketch about Mexican Standoffs is a particular highlight, as is the game show sketch. It seems this company is at its best when poking fun at social issues. They have that down. Fun cast! Clever stuff!
What a fun show! Awesome sketch ideas and really funny people involved. This is such a great showcase of different talent and of course it's awesome that there is so much diversity. I loved the first sketch with the stand off especially as well as the game show about what ethnicity someone is ("the answer is always American"). The singer and comedian were a nice addition as well. The show is well written as a whole and Royce is a great producer; so happy for him and the cast.
I recently saw the Fringe Festival Color Collective show and I was very impressed at how cohesive the show was and at the same time all the sketches, stand-ups, singers and dancers added such variety and shared unique voices. Very funny, engaging and thoughtful.
From start to finish the show was hilarious! There were sketches, singing, dancing, and standup. Peter Murphy as The Rock and Bonnie He as a burlesque dancer were some of my favorite performances, but everyone was incredibly talented. There was also free PBR so if you don't laugh at least once at the show you're a monster and undeserving of love.
Focused on the comedic talents of the cast, this minimal props show is interspersed with singing and dancing performances. The whole cast is committed and enthusiastic, giving it their all. Recommended
Forgive the obvious comment, but this show really is so COLORFUL, in all aspects of the word. The range of comedy is so vast and there is something for EVERYONE here. I loved how we didn't know what we were going to get, whatsoever, and nothing was bland. Each performer is so talented and of course, the diversity of the cast is AWESOME and of utmost performance. I'd also love to mention that there are moments during this show when I was overcome with hysteria and gleefully in shock. It's not always easy to make shock value work, but the comedy and elegance of it was perfect.
The Color Collective is a vibrant, lively evening of theatre. The stories told are funny, fresh and necessary. Go, have some laughs, and support these talented young artists.
I'm so happy that I got to see this show a couple weeks ago! It was really amazing to see a stage full of talented people of all different colors and races! I have never seen anything like that before and it reminded me of "In Living Color". From the sketches to the music and those sexy ass dancers, I'm looking forward to seeing this show again! I can't recommend this show enough!!!
This show never disappoints. It's hilarious, creative, and has great variety. I also think the social message is both valuable and important. I make it a point to attend monthly and introduce as many new people as possible to the awesomeness. Color Collective literally has something for everyone.
This show never disappoints. I appreciate the social significance of the show, which also makes it truly stand out and unique. There is literally something for everyone.
Funny show! I've been a few times and I've never been disappointed. You'll see great sketches performed by an amazing, diverse group of talent. The chemistry on stage is palpable in the theater. If you're a fan of good comedy, music, and dancing I strongly recommend checking the show out.
Oh my goodness, so much variety and fun on stage!! From the sketches, to the stand-up, to the dancers, the live DJing and incredible hosting... I LOVE my once a month Color Collective night! I can't WAIT for the Fringe show!
Never have I seen such a talented bunch. Amazing writing, inspired dancing. Hilarious! Just when I thought it would be a great sketch show, they wowed me with some top notch dancing and right back again to fantastic sketch!
I absolutely loved the show I saw by The Color Collective in April! The 80s themed show was smart, surprising, witty and energetic. It was well paced, with a wide range of sketches, stand-up comedy and dancing that really played to the strengths of each of the performers. I highly recommend any show by this talented group!
I've been to this more than a hand full of times and I love it so much. It's very intelligent and there's never a dull moment. From the sketches to the dancers, I'm always very impressed by the end of the show. Lots of good laughs! Lots of chemistry and trust between the actors! Very entertaining!
Every Color Collective show I've attended has been a blast! It's a party on stage that you never want to end. It's so much fun seeing such a diverse and talented group of people coming together every month to deliver their high caliber of performance to every show. My friends and I look forward to every first Saturday of the month for our one stop entertainment shop. Fans of music, dance, and comedy will leave entertained and inspired, as well as their faces hurting from smiling and laughing so hard!
