Reviews
The cast is absolutely superb and were all clearly having a ball on stage. The plays are a mixture of funny and thrilling and the music was also brilliantly and thoughtfully curated, adding an extra depth to the show. Punk Monkey also employed a different director for each play, which I loved. It's remarkable how much impact another set of eyes has on material like this, every director setting their own tone despite the similar material... “Play Noir” at The Actors Workout Theatre is an evening of the very best of the short play and Noir genre and I highly recommend it! Bravo!!

Play Noir has done it again! This annual production never disappoints. This was a night of surprises and delights with classic noir themes and modern day relevance. The cast was perfectly on pitch, delivering quick whitted dialogue without missing a beat. Each piece delivered an impactful punch to the gut, tug at the heart, or bump on the funny bone. It is wonderful to see such collaboration on the Los Angeles stage. Can't wait for next year!

I've seen this play series all seven years that it's been in production and it gets better and better every year! The five plays are a perfect combination of hilarious and suspenseful that will have you intrigued the entire way through. In past years, the show was sometimes longer, but this year, with a shorter program augmented by brilliant pacing and programming, the thing really hums! They definitely found their groove this year. The tempo is just right and the variety and order of the pieces, along with an always great cast, make it a really enjoyable show. I highly recommend this series of delightful shorts!

PLAY NOIR hit it out of the park with their cast and selection of user submitted works. I'm always fascinated to see what the writing community submits and what the directors choose for the stage. This year had a number of twists and turns, adding some laughs made it a great night! Great show!
