“Old Jews Telling Jokes,” which has been called a “pickle-barrel full of giggles,” showcases five actors in a revue-type production that pays tribute to and reinvents classic jokes of the past and present. It celebrates the rich tradition of Jewish humor and ‘all the rabbis, complaining wives, fed-up husbands, patience-challenged physicians, gossiping ladies, and competitive men’ populating it. The humor is suggestive and even raunchy as the ‘Old Jews’ make fun of themselves as well as followers of every other religion. Said producer Philip Roger Roy, “Think Catskills comedy with jokes, songs, stories, skits, and routines. The humor is reminiscent of the great Jewish comedians from Buddy Hackett and Alan King to Tom Lehrer, and more.” Warning: adult (bawdy) humor. Not for audiences under 21. The cast features (in alphabetical order) Julien Ari, Arthur S. Brown, Wendy Hammers, Danielle Kay, and Jeffrey Lesser.

Reviews
OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES has garnered rave reviews across the country, and I can certainly understand why it's kosher for a Jew to be a ham after watching these five talented and energetic actor/comedians take over the stage. Sets of jokes are broken into categories, with the titles displayed on a large screen at the back of the stage, upon which we also see various settings where jokes are set. Starting with Birth and Childhood, they move through Dating and Courtship, Business and Money, Marriage, Religion, Assimilation, School, Doctors and Retirement, making fun of everyone while the audience roared with laughter.

Billed as an evening in the Catskills, with jokes, skits, song and dance, this five-actor troupe of comedic talent brought us all laughter and tears in a 90-minute production that pays tribute to the era of Jackie Mason, Alan King and other legendary greats, with a modern twist that's very relatable and very funny.

Everybody needs a good laugh some of the time but especially now, considering what's going on in the world. If you're Jewish, you really need that laugh all of the time. To the rescue comes OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES and you'll have the antidote for quite a while. The usual advice is “you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy this show” but it would most certainly help.

Some comedy, a few songs and some wonderful performances from talented and hilarious actors having a ball on stage and you have the recipe for a great evening. It's perfect family entertainment…with a side of sauce…not for kids!! I highly recommend it!

Directed by Jeremy Quinn, OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES is a snappy ninety minutes full of fun and mirth that one can shake a shtick at! (Pun indented!) And one doesn't have to be Jewish to enjoy this presentation.
