The Wallis & For The Record’s biggest, record-breaking hit returns this holiday season! The multimedia concert celebration of one of the most beloved holiday films of all time is back by popular demand, now as a not-to-be-missed Los Angeles tradition.

The team behind LA’s award-winning series For The Record transforms The Wallis’ Bram Goldsmith Theater into an immersive cinema, where the modern classic written by Richard Curtis is reborn as a revolutionary stage and screen event. To tell the story, the film and live action seamlessly intertwine throughout the London setting. Iconic scenes on screen share the stage with an all-star cast of singers and a 15-piece orchestra, as they reimagine the film’s hit soundtrack including “Christmas is All Around” and “Trouble With Love.” Love Actually Live is a first-of-its-kind, theatrical cinema experience.

“Pitch perfect! Such a celebration of love, the holidays, and the movie itself that it’s hard to not fall in love, actually.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Love Actually Live delivers! Let this superbly mounted musical wash over you with warmth and joy.”
– Los Angeles Times

I have to admit that when reading in the program I was in store for a show lasting 2 hours and 40 minutes did have me somewhat apprehensive, but once Davis and cast set to work a faster two hours plus I’ve never known.

...So my suggestion is–go see Love Actually Live for the holiday! (If you can even get tickets. It looked sold-out for the performance we saw, on what my mother would refer to as “a plain little Tuesday night.”)

I’m begging the Wallis to do it all again next year—I know it will once again be the only show Mr. X comes with me to willingly! So Happy Holidays to me!

While some of the storylines have begun to show their age in the intervening years since the movie was released in 2003, there’s much to enjoy with this holiday favorite if you’re able to check your 2019 woke sensibilities at the door and let the nostalgia wash over you.

The entire ensemble is a joy to behold during their large-scale numbers as the many characters walk in, join in, and then move on to allow for the next to celebrate the wonder of being in love. These songs include "All You Need Is Love," "Jump (For My Love)," "Both Sides Now," God Only Knows," "Love Actually," and "Christmas is All Around." Each scene is a festival of excellent characterizations, extraordinary lighting effects and costumes, brilliant and fast-paced direction and choreography, and the joy of great music that perfectly expresses the mood and themes of the movie and jukebox musical LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE. No doubt this suburb holiday musical will be making its return to The Wallis each December!

Very unique and clever, to say the least, and so well done by the entire cast, all who are superb singers, actors, and musicians. - Highly Recommended

The theater group For The Record Live conceived the idea of taking a movie and mashing it together with a stage musical. It’s a very interesting and amusing concept. And since it’s the time of the season to promote peace on earth and good will to all, LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE is the place to be, and it’s what all you need!

The number of talented singers on stage is awe-inspiring and you'd be hard pressed to single them out,...

Love Actually Live is back, and even if you were fortunate enough to savor its every magical musical minute last Christmas at The Wallis, a cast that’s two-thirds new for 2019 makes this year’s reincarnation that much more of a holiday must-see.
