One woman's journey through marriage, abuse, trauma and finding herself along the way.

Laura Grimaldi is a whirlwind of a performer with a winning mixture of humor and honesty. In Left Turns, her one-woman show, she slides easily into a host of characters (I stopped counting at 21) as she leads us through the minefield that Is her life.

A true ride! Heartfelt, raw, told with so much honesty and fun too. Laura is a great storyteller and a force of nature. Her story allows us in a real warrior combat of a woman. We feel so happy seeing Laura so fresh and strong and alive after all she went through and at the same time, sadly, very relatable to many. Thank you for sharing your story and congratulations again!!!

WHAT I LIKED I liked the honesty. Even when it was hard to watch, Laura tells it like it is, the good the bad and the very ugly, too. She's opened her heart and showed her aggressors in all of their glory but she never wants your pity. She's a very strong and smart woman who has been dealt tough cards to play with. Cathartic and unapologetic. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE It was either the A/C that was trying to cool down the theater, or the noise coming from the sidewalk but I had a hard time hearing what Laura said at times, especially when she sat near the front row. I missed the part when she introduced her alter egos GPS and G SPOT; it wasn't until the 30 to 40 minute mark that I either heard or realized who's who in the story. Also, the rushed delivery made it hard to follow. Either that or I needed to drown the noises around me to pay attention. MY OVERALL IMPRESSION Laura takes the audience through an array of emotions through her childhood into adulthood as she encounters the wrong men along the way and has to rely in her inner voices, namely INNER GPS and G SPOT, who are not always the best advisers a woman can have.

I had the pleasure of directing Laura Grimaldi in the short film Shelby's Vacation, where she played Shelby! I took a chance on her (or was it my instinct!?) for the lead because she possesses a specific and yet universal empathic way of embodying a character. In the telling of her own life's journey, Laura Grimaldi's one woman show is anything but one woman. She has put together the pieces of her life so that you feel what she's going through and what lessons she learned (or is learning!) Her many-peopled past comes to life using just her body, her words, her gestures to change from herself to those in her life she is talking about. Left Turns is for anyone who has looked back in hindsight to the choices they made along the way. I can't wait to see what she has come up with for the Fringe Festival! Once you meet the characters in her life, you want to see more of them! and you want to know what happened to them! Brava, Laura!

In watching Laura's amazingly honest and raw accounts of her life & experiences in this performance, I was completely transported into a perspective of taking responsibility that is rare and is truly inspiring. By acknowledging the disfunctional and unhealthy relationships and then tracing it even further back to that single childhood memory/ event that set in motion the shame & guilt, is such an incredible gift. Love you Laura... wishing you all the best!!! Can't wait to see the final product

Left Turns will have you feeling all the feels. Her story is told so well, with amazingly real characters. This funny yet hard hitting life story was so compelling to watch. Her level of love, commitment and passion translates so strongly. You will walk away so happy you got to be apart of it!

I've known Laura nearly her whole life. I went to her performance to support her but felt I wouldn't hear anything that would surprise me. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised!! She's so expressive and engaging! These are 2 character traits I feel are extremely important on stage! When she finished I wanted more! Funny thing is I knew most of her story but the way she crafted her tale it was if I were hearing it for the first time! Really enjoyed this and recommend!

This show was so well crafted! Laura is able to bring to life so many different characters in a really beautiful cocktail of comedy and trauma. I was so moved by her vulnerability and honest retelling of very real experiences. As an actor, I found this show so emotionally and artistically inspiring. This show is a cathartic experience you don't want to miss!
