This wonderful one act play held our rapt attention from start to end. The emotional connection with the audience was electric through much laughter and many tears, and it was replicated by two different wonderful actors in back to back performances of the same material. Greg Lavoi has written and directed a truly special play, and it left me determined to be a better human while on this earth. That is the power of great theater, and it is stunningly beautiful to see when it works on this level of audience connection.

I loved the simplicity of the set pieces and movement on stage. Well directed! The story is not only emotional but intimate and truly relatable. Quite the tale Greg has to tell. Jasmine Duhaney was a delight and it was my pleasure to support these artists as they pursue their talents!

A creative and clever way to discover connections between love and death. Enjoyed the work of David Garelik and Jahmone Duhaney. David acted the part, but Jahmone owned it. All the best to Greg LaVoi and his talented team!

I have seen the show twice, both times blown away by the play. The script, as well as directing and the performance. It never gets dull seeing the same piece, as each actor brings out a totally interesting interpretation aspect of the character. Well done!

Saw two performances with two great actors. Both were very different interpretations. It was deep and intense but great. One actor had me in tears and the next one laughing over the same material. If you have a chance go see this show. Well worth the time

I loved it. This is a great reflection of a life well lived. Very well done. Congratulations to Greg

Touching and personal true story that triggers a life-changing reevaluation of what's really important. I love that Greg has cast 4 different actors, with 4 different takes on the material. Heartfelt and funny.

A very powerful and affecting one-person piece which I saw performed by two different, extremely fine actors. Huge kudos to all involved and a must-see.

This is a moving and compelling production, astutely written and directed by Greg LaVoi, made for a very enjoyable Fringe Festival experience. Actor Rene Rosado keenly wrapped himself in the solo role, making one stop and consider the importance of making every minute count. And this is 20 minutes well worth investing in.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. I had the pleasure of enjoying the same play; two different performances by two talented actors, Rene Rosado and Michael Orlando and their individual interpretations of the same storyline. The play is a thoughtful examination of a near death experience and how this impacts the character, as well as his futures relationships. Each actor takes the same message and delivers their personal take on the story. The success of this play will hopefully lead to more stories shared by the talented writer. We want MORE!

absolutely spectacular! a must see for anyone who loves theatre. saw 2 shows and interpretations were entirely different. both good..

I DIED TODAY will take you on a private emotional journey. Reflective. Sentimental. Humorous. Questioning. Endearing. Lingering. Brilliant. Left me wanting more.

Exceeded each/every expectation. Be ready to be mesmerized by the acting and writing in this one man show. Four different actors with four different perspectives This show is truly fabulous.

This show is theater at its finest. An actor comes on stage, tells a story, captures our attention, and leaves us thinking about our own lives. So simple yet so well executed on every level. Nicely done!

A thought-provoking and funny play about what we choose to take with us and what we leave behind. If you can, see two performances back-to-back (it's short) so you can experience the fun of different actors delivering very different takes on the material. Very fresh and it sticks with you!

I truly enjoyed the first iteration of the play and thought the 2nd could not be worth staying and I should go because I LOVED what I had seen. I stayed...certain I would not like it as much, determined to say, "I KNEW IT, I SHOULD HAVE GONE!" So, what happens next knocks me for a loop and I have been telling everyone who will listen to me how interesting and wonderful it was to watch as a different actor deliver the same lines BUT with his interpretation...AMAZING. I think there are six actors doing the show, that makes six interpretations, I want to see them all now, again AMAZING!!!

WHAT I LIKED The simple setting. A dead body with Vida, his dog companion and the actor delivering a moving monologue about dying but wanted to hang on for dear life. Very moving and poetic, I will definitely catch all other performers (and be there on time!!!) WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE Wishing it had been longer. Also would be beneficial to be there on time (my fault) but I had just come out of New Kid On The Block seconds before and didn't have time to process and reset. MY OVERALL IMPRESSION Rene Rosado is very charismatic and adds such depth to the character whose dead body lies next to him as he delivers his monologue and recounts his life, the love for his mom and everything he'll miss now that he's dead.

First time reviewer but I just had to take the time to let everyone know about this unique production. It was wonderfully written and directed. Each show is performed by a different actor who interprets the play with their own style and energy. There are two shows each night- but four actors total so we are going back to see the other two actors perform. My favorite so far is the actor Jahmone.. i am excited to see how the final teo actors interpret the work. This playwright is so vulnerable and honest and open hearted. I Died Today is special. Go see.

I loved this play! Playwright and Director Greg LaVoi presents to the audience a moving, funny and thought provoking story. Not only is the storyline very intriguing, but Greg has different actors in the role of Jake for each performance. So really, although the dialog is almost identical, each actor brings a different interpretation to the role. We saw actors David Garelik and Jahmone Duhaney. Both very different performances and both great! I would definitely recommend getting tickets for both shows. You won't be disappointed.

I Died Today is a rare glimpse into what it is like to stare death in the face, do battle, and win. All the thoughts and emotions that come from facing mortality, and what life is ultimately all about. David Garelik and Michael Orlandi each give specifically different takes on Greg LaVoi's self-reflection. Bravo to all! I can't wait to see the other two actors, Rene Rosado and Jahmone Duhaney, sink their teeth into it! SKB

The script is great. David Garelik's performance was wonderful. I would recommend this show to everyone.

sweet - Ilya Garelik

Loved it. Saw both shows Saturday, both actors were wonderful but totally different. I can't wait to see the 3rd and 4th actors later this month!

I really enjoyed David Garelik in Greg Lavoi's play "I Died Today". Garelik's performance and Lavoi's storyline was reminiscent of a young Leonardo DiCaprio in "Basketball Diaries". The wisdom of a young-old soul, taking the mirror of his life and reflecting back to us - the audience - warmed the heart, and reminded me about what theater is; speaking from the heart.

Tonight I attended the 7:30 showing of I DIED TODAY and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I DIED TODAY is a thoughtful and engaging piece about man reflecting back to different moments in his life. It has wonderful moments of both sincerity and humor interwoven throughout the story and as an audience member, it challenged me to reflect on my own life. I highly recommend.

I loved the show. It was moving and helped me to reflect on what is most important in life. The actors were both great. The play is about 30 minutes, but there are four versions with different actors playing the same role. I stayed to see two versions. It was interesting and unique to see two different interpretations of the work side by side.
