Told through the creation of his first three films, ‘George’ is the story of how a young man from Modesto, California became George Lucas. With each act following a different film, George will learn all of the skills that eventual led to the creation of ‘Star Wars.’

What I liked

I liked the script which winked at the audience upon referencing some of the jokes like would Star Wars be a flop or the original title of Indiana Jones (thank God we didn’t end up with Indiana Smith) that any movie fan would appreciate and laugh about.

What I didn't like

A lot of narration by several supporting characters like Spielberg, Coppola and Scorsese as they were flipping the stage for the next scene. Sometimes it was hard to hear their commentary as the clinking and moving furniture was much louder than the actors.

My overall impression

Thorough look behind the mastermind George Lucas before Star Wars.

The concept for George is there but it’s dragged down by ineffective and unnecessary narrators, wooden character acting and a cast that needed better direction.
