The Group Rep presents Ira Levin's comic thriller Deathtrap directed by Jules Aaron, produced by Larry Eisenberg. A successful-but-currently-stalled playwright whose recent offerings have been flops, conspires with his wife to “collaborate” with a student whose new thriller shows tremendous potential. Suspense mounts as the plot begins to twist and turn with devilish cleverness, and with such an abundance of thrills and laughter, that audiences will be held enthralled until the final, startling moments of the play. April 6 – May 20. Fridays and Saturdays 8:00 pm; Sunday matinees 2:00 pm. Talk-back Sundays April 15 and April 28 after the matinee. General Admission: $25.00. Seniors & Students with ID: $20.00. Groups 10+: $15.00. Buy tickets/Info: www.thegrouprep.com or (818) 763-5990. Lonny Chapman Theatre, 10900 Burbank Blvd. North Hollywood 91601.
DEATHTRAP
Reviews
Fast paced changes, a surprise a minute, and plenty of laughs, even though murder is involved, and even the ending is a surprise, so don't think you've got it figured out! Highly recommended.

This ensemble of wonderful actors really gives us the essence of what "DEATHTRAP" is all about, and along with the amazing Jules Aaron's direction (which never disappoints), we have a terrific play.

So the result ends up genuinely entertaining, genuinely well crafted, genuinely enjoyable. But not compelling. Not exciting. I was never once bored. Nor did I particularly care what happened to anyone on stage.

The production at the Lonny Chapman Theatre, under the superb direction of veteran director Jules Aaron, does credit to the play by presenting a first-class cast of actors...

This is a most entertaining journey from start to finish! ...A tantalizing thriller from start to finish, mystery lovers will leave having been deliciously entertained. Don't miss it!

Director Jules Aaron gives the piece a slick, finely articulated production, aided by an able cast. - RECOMMENDED
