It’s mid-morning in February, Obama-era, in the northeastern section of Brooklyn known as “Bushwick”. We settle in the living room of an old warehouse style apartment where Skip, Beatrix, and Byron are on the hunt for the perfect subletter.
Little do they know that the events of the previous night, a muddy haze in the form of a hangover, are gonna throw a wrench in all their plans.
“Bushwick”, a 60 minute one-act, is an Obama-era love letter to the millennial whose constant struggle with #yolo and #fomo becomes a crippling factor in the ever-evolving need to make meaning. #seemeseeme #likemelike #knowmeknowme
Really great realistic show! Enjoyable, love to watch again! Byron was an amazing diva💕 her!!! Millennials sometimes need practice on stashing personal items, away from site and not letting things get to far. Skip, very responsible and sexy with his outta the shower seen. And that Cash very realistic and good looking man
What a great cast! The 60 minute show left you wanting more! It was like watching your favorite tv show about friends in a city, and it kept up with so many emotions in so little time! Still in awe of Bj who played Byron, breaking into song! I would dance with that somebody! I would and will recommend 100 %
Director Schuyler Scott brings us a story of 3 relatable flatmates, in a not too distant past. The show was full of laughs, brought on especially by the talented actor B.J Minor, and his uninhibited delivery as Byron. Arsenio was seamless in transitioning between characters and really commanded the attention of the room. Overall a great performance by a group of talented actors .
The actors were phenomenal and really encompassed the typical New York life. Although it was only a 60 minute play, there was so much emotion, character, and passion delivered by these amazing people. The entire 60 minutes keep you enticed and on your toes expecting the next scene. I loved very second of this play!
It was funny and clever…really brought back a time period, that unfortunately seems very far away right now.
The cast got me involved with the characters quickly. It was fast paced and funny without being slapstick. I also liked having the one actor playing three characters it worked in a “we’re in on this” kind of way. Each of the characters really had their own sensibility or worldview, and you could definitely feel how that would cause conflict within the four walls of a Bushwick apartment.
The cast did a phenomenal job. I really enjoyed the intimate setting where it took place. B.J was outstanding, he was a class act. Definitely will recommended this show to many others.
