A great show that takes all of the topics and thoughts you wish you could say and puts them right in front of your face to their natural and ugly conclusion. Great acting, great writing, quick back and forth. Highly recommend it.
Hilarious, touching, immediate, provoking, masterful. These are a few words I would use to describe Victor Isaac in The Word. From the moment that he steps on the stage he commands your attention and works with such ease. A brilliant piece with great writing, great directing, and amazing acting. The best show of Fringe by far. The switching between characters was seamless, the comedy was perfect, the structure lent itself to a beautiful story of redemption and forgiveness. Everything from start to finish was magical.
This moving, personal, and relatable one person show of a woman's struggle to deal with the dark monsters in her closet is emotionally raw. Jessica Carleton has created a piece in which there is never a dull moment, seamlessly bouncing between all the characters in her life who have made her who she is. With great acting, great light design, and wonderful staging, she puts on a streamlined and fast moving look into life with restrictions. I applaud her and everyone involved.
