To engage, educate, and provoke our diverse community with excellent theatre and arts education.
Vision Statement
24th Street Theatre envisions an inventive hybrid arts organization like no other! We envision both a first class Arts Organization and a Public Benefit service provider, which uses art as a tool with which to positively impact our world. We envision a new breed of Arts Organization in which the term MAIN STAGE does not exist… where all artistic programming is of equal value; our acclaimed season theatrical productions for adult audiences and family audiences, our FREE after school arts enrichment programs, our Teatro Nuevo Latino Initiative projects, our music series, our outreach programs for at-risk teens, our free community events, our teacher training programs, as well as our Gallery exhibits. 24th Street envisions building artistic bridges with theatres across the nation, and internationally. We envision using those relationships to bring acclaimed performances & workshops from around the world. We also envision taking our work to other parts of the globe. And as we grow, we shall continue to serve a variety of diverse audiences with our art in the forms of performance, outreach, and educational programming of the highest possible caliber!

"Operating out of the same space for 30 years, The Actors Workout Studio offers a safe and challenging work environment for the beginning or professional actor. The Studio is dedicated to training and preparing actors for professional work in the film and television industry. Classes are small and individualized. Everyone works—every class.
Owner and Artistic Director of the Actors Workout Studio, Fran Montano runs one of the longest running small theaters and acting schools in Los Angeles, which has received more than 20 production and theater awards. He founded the Actors Workout Studio to be an intimate and inspirational creative community, where both aspiring and working actors can explore and discover new tools and resources to expand and accelerate their artistic journeys. Fran's students range from brand new beginning actors, to accomplished working actors of all ages in film, television, theater and new media. He coaches not only actors, but also writers, directors, and other creative professionals who want to learn acting techniques that will improve and advance their own craft.
Classes at the Studio include Scene Study, Cold Reading, Improvisation, On-Camera Scene Study, Meisner Technique, and many other techniques designed to address the specific needs of the individual actor. Class members are also able to audition for parts in award-winning theatrical productions that are regularly staged in the Studio's two theater spaces."
On October 20, 1959 the Department of Parks and Recreation purchased 15.52 acres of land for the purpose of building a recreational facility in the Southeast Whittier area. Adventure Park, formerly Gunn Avenue Park, was dedicated on May 31, 1962. The Department, as well as the Board of Supervisors, decided to rename this facility Adventure Park for its positive and inspiring influence on the surrounding community. Adding to what is considered one of the Department's strongest programming and volunteer- based facilities is the construction of a new gymnasium which opened in July 2004.
